With over 30 years of experience in electrical retail, childcare, and property development, Bruce Coulson has built a reputation for delivering high-quality, purpose – driven spaces. As the founder and former owner of Kool Kids Early Learning Centres and Kool Kids Training College – both of which he successfully developed and later sold – Bruce has played a pivotal role in shaping the early education landscape.
But Coulson Operations is not just Bruce. It’s a true partnership.
Carolyne Coulson, General Manager of Resources & Design – and Bruce’s wife – is the driving force behind the look, feel, and functionality of every space they create. Her passion for design and attention to detail ensures each centre and project reflects the warmth, innovation, and community connection that define the Coulson vision.

Today, as the full owners of Kool Beanz, Bruce and Carolyne continue to design, build, and operate exceptional childcare centres across Queensland and Northern New South Wales – with expansion into Victoria on the horizon. Through Coulson Operations, they also manage a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential properties, ensuring long-term quality and innovation in every project.
Beyond business, Bruce and Carolyne are deeply connected to their community. As the inaugural number one ticket holder of the GC SUNS, Bruce’s passion for AFL in Queensland has led to groundbreaking partnerships, including co-branded childcare centres with the SUNS.
